First I want to say that the 500 Likes Celebration Event was absolutely amazing, and so much fun! I couldn't believe the amount of people who contributed prizes and the amount of people who attended. Everyone kept telling me "Thank you" for introducing them to new authors...but I want to say, "Thank YOU for introducing me to new people who might actually like my books, and may become one of my new Zombie-Heads. Hehe! I love my Zombie-Heads.
Second, I screwed up a few times (sorry Fiona Wilson and Lesa Miller-Cox, and whoever else this applies to) but everyone was very understanding and awesome about it all. (And thank you, Rene and Roxi, for the help you gave me in using my base and adding your info to it, so all I had to was copy and paste, and maybe add the time and game #.) But considering I only had two days to plan for this because my "Likes" shot up much faster than I had ever dreamed - and one of those two days I spent with my hubby in the hospital - I was having to write up the posts as the game went, post everything and try to make sure it was all correct, monitor the comments, watch the times, go back and forth from random.org (Randy) picking winners - which I would have to check first to make sure they actually did every step they were told to do - posting the winner, and then having to deal with mother nature and the call of the bathroom. Plus, finding time to eat something and make sure hubby was taken care of. With all that, I am officially a zombie...braindead.
Today, I am dealing with an incredibly stiff neck, my hands were stuck in the typing position (not very attractive, I must say!) and are still in incredible pain. When they started to loosen up, they went into spasms. I was in public in a room full of people who, of course, ALL noticed it. And let's not forget the incredible pain in the ass I've got! No, not my hubby - a literal pain in my ass from sitting all those hours. Since TWO Saturdays ago, I have now gotten a total of 4 hours sleep, thanks to the hour nap I got this afternoon. (But that can't all be blamed on the event. LOL)
So was the celebration event worth all that? No, it really wasn't. It was worth so much more. Seeing everyone have fun, win prizes, meet new readers and authors, and the messages and comments I got from both the authors and readers, made me so happy and proud to be C. M. Wright - and to have these people supporting me is a very empowering feeling.
I truly hope you all had a good time, and I can't wait to be able to do this again...ok, I CAN wait long enough to recover, but not too long after that. But the next time, oh yeah baby, I am giving myself at least a week of getting ready.
Love you all!
